I teach Juniors and Adults Billiard Cuesports no matter what the game. It all starts with a solid foundation and an thorough understanding of the fundamentals. Nothing is more gratifying to me as an instructor than seeing my students grow and improve their game.
What you can expect.
You'll receive personalized one-on-one training. We’ll meet to discuss your goals, what obstacles you face and how to overcome them.
A textbook will be provided to you, with lesson plans. This will enable us to track your progress. Instruction time is divided between presentations, discussions, drills and practice. Practice drills will be tailored to your weekly lesson plans.
I look forward to working with you and improving your game.
Respectfully,
Jim Lareau

Below is an article written by former Billiard Instructor and author Hal Mix. These are the same standards I strive for as a Professional Billiard Instructor. If you don't choose to work with me, I hope Hal’s article will help you understand what to look for in a Billiard instructor.
Choosing a Teacher by Hal Mix
Some people have a special talent for teaching. They make learning fun and easy while inspiring you to play your best pool. You give them your trust and they treat you with respect.
Besides passing on valuable tips and secrets, a good teacher should be able to access your stroke mechanics and identify any weakness in your game. Their job is to give you honest feedback about any flaws in your game and help you correct them.
Pay attention to their style of communication. Do your personalities match up nicely? Do they make sense? Patience is a virtue not all teachers have. Find a mentor that has it and one that gives good feedback.
Quality time spent with a good instructor passes quickly so talk less, listen more and take notes. Make sure to leave with specific routines you can work on. If something comes up afterwards, write it down so you can follow up on it. Otherwise, by the time your next-session comes around it may be forgotten.
A good teacher will keep you on the path of discovery.
If you want to progress quickly, find a person who has knowledge and the gift of sharing it. Spend as much time with them as you can!
I was first introduced to cue sports when I was 8 years old. My Grandma Shull surprised my twin brother Bob and me with a brand-new Valley Bumper Pool Table for Christmas.
I was mesmerized by the rolling bright red and white balls, the sounds they made when you made a swish dead center in the hole which then disappeared into the hole. I

to pocket billiards, but remain intrigued
never-the-less.
After years of playing in sanctioned pool leagues, other players began asking me for pointers. This eventually turned into asking for lessons.
I quickly learned that playing at a high level and providing billiard instruction at a high level are two different areas of expertise. That is when I decided to go to school and become a professional Billiard Instructor and share the game I love by offering pool lessons to others.
